Counterfeit products remain an ongoing challenge for brands. Product authentication can help, but giving every product a unique identity does not solve the problem on its own.
If that identity can be copied, reproduced or accessed before it reaches the product, the authentication method itself can become vulnerable.
So effective product authentication isn’t only about how a product is verified. Brands also need to consider how that unique identity is created, handled and applied to the product.
Introducing SecuriCode Authentication
Rudholm is now working with SecuriCode to offer brands a more controlled approach to product authentication.
SecuriCode gives every genuine product a unique, verifiable identity, helping brands authenticate genuine products and identify potential counterfeits.
What makes the approach different is how that identity moves from SecuriCode to the physical product.
Unique codes are solely generated by SecuriCode, integrated through Variable Data Cloud® and securely printed by Rudholm as part of the label production process. The factory receives the finished physical label, rather than the SecuriCode as a digital file.
This creates a more controlled route from digital identity to physical product, helping brands protect against counterfeits while adding authentication through their product labelling.
More than product verification
SecuriCode also gives brands greater visibility once products are in the market, helping them understand scan activity and identify patterns that could indicate a genuine product identity has been copied or misused.
And through Variable Data Cloud®, product authentication can sit alongside globally compliant care information and Digital Product Passports through ShareLabel®.
One label. Compliance, authenticity and transparency.
We’ve put together a new SecuriCode page explaining how the approach works, what brands can see from each scan and how SecuriCode integrates into the label production process.
