Navigate sustainability challenges and evolving regulations with our expert guidance.

After August 2023, all textile and footwear products on sale in the French market (and created in France for export) must be labelled correctly to avoid costly penalties.

At Rudholm Group, we are committed to assisting you in effectively navigating these requirements, guaranteeing that your textile products, paper, and plastic packaging, including items like hangtags, polybags, and corrugated boxes, fully comply with the applicable standards and regulations established by French authorities.

Since 1st January 2023, the French Decree 2022-748 AGEC (Anti-Waste for a Circular Economy Law) requires large clothing Brands with an annual turnover above €50m to have verified environmental labelling.

Prepare your textile and fashion brand for the impending changes in EU and French legislation on sustainability with the innovative Rudholm Group ShareLabel® platform. These legislative changes have a significant political objective: to empower consumers with reliable, comparable, and transparent information regarding the environmental and social impact of products.

Developed by Rudholm Group, the ShareLabel® platform offers product authenticity and individual identity through a share label equipped with either a QR code or an NFC chip. This unique identity allows for personalised digital care labels with extensive integration and localisation possibilities. The ShareLabel® platform seamlessly integrates into your existing infrastructure.

In November 2022, the European Commission proposed revised EU legislation (PPWD) on packaging and packaging waste. Its primary goal is to counter the continuous increase in packaging waste. The main objective is to reduce packaging waste in the EU by at least 15% by 2040 compared to 2018.

The regulation focuses on improved recyclability of packaging, mandatory quotas for reusable packaging, and minimum recycled material content in packaging. Similar to the existing directive, the new regulation requires online retailers and other companies to take responsibility for the disposal and recycling of packaging waste, in line with extended producer responsibility.

The proposal aims to:

  • Reduce the generation of packaging waste
  • Promote a circular economy for packaging in a cost-efficient way
  • Harmonise packaging rules across the EU

The proposal would contribute to the goals of the European Green Deal and its circular economy action plan. It would replace the 1994 packaging and packaging waste directive and transform it into a regulation. That means that these rules would become directly applicable in all member states without the need to transpose them into national law.
